The challenge.

Propose specific UK regulations for AI in film and TV.

Who's in the room.

Teams play the stakeholders: tech companies and their lobbyists who want AI in, the actors' and crew unions and ethics groups who want it held back, and the streamers and big studios caught in the middle. Our team plays the regulator, who decides which deals stand.

The currency: OPALs.

Everyone starts with the same number. Every deal the regulator signs off earns an OPAL; meetings with the regulator cost OPALs; uncollaborative or unethical behaviour costs you. A leaderboard closes every day. And: prepare for disruption.

The week.

Monday: where we are. Tuesday: where we want to be. Wednesday: getting there. Thursday: making it happen. Each day runs on the same rhythm: recap, negotiation, research, wrap-up. On Friday, every team presents four slides:

  1. The root cause of the problem.
  2. Their bottom lines and alternatives.
  3. How the negotiations went, stakeholder by stakeholder.
  4. The exact wording of their proposed regulation, and who supports it and who doesn't.

A panel, standing in for the government, decides whether to adopt it.
