The Death of Jane Doe

An immersive investigation into mental health stigma.

CorpComms Award 2016

A staged crime scene on a stage: police tape, evidence boxes and a performer lying on the floor

Trailer coming soon

A young woman has died. The evening opens with a press conference: the police and a grieving family member appeal for information. Then the audience goes looking for the truth. They meet the people around the case, including characters living with schizophrenia and antisocial personality disorder.

Each encounter shows how prejudice and snap judgements change the way people are seen and treated. The question everyone takes home: are you seeing the truth, or your own assumptions?

Created with the Forensic Psychology Unit, in collaboration with Met Police Lewisham and the Innocence Project, with Ben Laumann as creative director.

Award: The Death of Jane Doe won the CorpComms Award 2016, Best Communications by a Public Sector Organisation.

"The judges loved the 'creative approach' to building awareness, describing the event as 'well executed' and 'an excellent mix of theatre and immersive'."CorpComms Awards panel
